From a young age—around six or seven—I was drawn to martial arts. It started when I saw kids in my neighborhood wearing uniforms, practicing with focus and purpose. That fascination sparked the beginning of a lifelong journey. I began with Okinawan Karate, where I first learned the values of discipline, respect, and focus.
As I grew older, my curiosity led me to explore other styles. I trained in Tang Soo Do, then later discovered Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and Muay Thai, which quickly became my true passions. BJJ taught me resilience through grappling and the power of technique and strategy over brute strength. Muay Thai instilled in me grit, timing, and the relentless drive to push forward.
My journey through martial arts has never been about mastering a single style—it’s about evolving through many. Each discipline has shaped me differently, refining my physical abilities while deepening my mental strength.
I’ve had the honor of earning black belts in both Kenpo Karate and Northern Mantis Kung Fu—two distinct systems that tested and expanded me in unique ways. Kenpo gave me precision, power, and a sharp understanding of motion and timing. Northern Mantis Kung Fu enhanced my fluidity, speed, and adaptability, teaching me to strike with grace, rhythm, and efficiency.
But my training didn't stop with traditional arts. I immersed myself in the competitive arena, actively participating in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments and Muay Thai bouts. Each competition has pushed my limits, revealing new layers of growth. Win or lose, every match sharpens my skills and builds character.
Over time, I expanded into Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), working to become a more well-rounded fighter. This integration of disciplines helped me develop a comprehensive understanding of combat—on the ground, in the clinch, and on the feet.
Martial arts has given me far more than physical skill. It’s taught me mental toughness, patience, humility, and the value of lifelong learning. After years of training and competing, I began teaching others, finding deep fulfillment in guiding them along their own paths.
Today, I continue the journey—not just as a martial artist, but as a student, competitor, and teacher. Always learning, always evolving.
